Liedenpohja

Liedenpohja is located in the north-end of one of Finland's deepest lakes, Toisvesi. From Liedenpohja through Herraskoski canal you can travel by boat all the way to Tampere. The boat docks were finished in 2011. There are also good connections by road. The main road 66 is going directly by the village center.

In Liedenpohja there is a school, specialised in education in agriculture and nature. Near the school is also the village hall, called Wanha koulu, in the old school building of Liedenpohja.  It is a common meeting point for the villagers and is also rented for different kinds of events. Meal and coffee services are also available there on agreement. Mäntymaja, owned by the village association, is located in the harbour. It is a cosy little hut with a lakeside sauna and is also rented for recreational purposes. There is also a church and a cemetery in the village, the church also has room for rent for events.
